Crooked Lake and Round Lake Flood Committee
We have recently learned that the Water Security Agency is rushing through a project to divert Kutawagan Lake.
This would divert tens of thousands of cubic meters of saltwater into our already-overloaded Qu'Appelle river chain, through Last Mountain Lake, Crooked Lake, Round Lake, and all the way down into Manitoba. The WSA has already quietly sought construction tenders for this project, and only lately proposed it in a rushed and threatening manner with no alternatives, no environmental assessments, no government overview, and no input from residents downstream.
Examining the problems the Devil's Lake and Lake Lenore diversions have caused, we believe this is very ill-advised. We have already collected hundreds of signatures opposing this huge overreach, and are looking for more.

About The Committee
Since 2011, lake levels at Crooked Lake and Round Lake have increased to previously unknown levels. This has resulted in severe flooding and property damage. The Committee was formed by citizens living in the area, to work with various groups and government organizations to try and find better solutions to the flooding.
This site is a collection of information on the 2011 Flood, 2013 Flood, and 2014 Flood, documents committee Meetings, and hosts other media related to the flood situation such as Image Galleries.
