The Kutawagan Lake Diverson was a project proposed by the Water Security Agency to reduce the level of Quill Lake by diverting polluted saltwater from nearby Kutawagan Lake into Last Mountain Lake and out through the entire downstream Qu'Appelle River chain (already suffering pollution, flooding, and persistent high lake levels). The project was proposed in a rushed manner without proper environmental assessments, governmental overview, or alternatives, and over 500 signatures were collected opposing it before the project was finally halted September 17, 2015. Thanks to all participants for your support.
